Misir mart ayında nəhəng bir konteyner gəmisinin altı gün ilişib qaldığı yerin yaxınlığında kanalın cənub ucunda ikitərəfli trafikə imkan verəcək ikinci zolağı genişləndirmək üçün dərinləşdirmə işlərinə başlayıb.

Qaynarinfo xəbər verir ki, Süveyş Kanalı Dövlət İdarəsi (SCA) keçən həftə kanalın 2015-ci ildə açılan ikinci zolağını 82 km uzunluğunda etmək üçün 10 km artırmağı və cənub ucunda bir zolağı genişləndirib dərinləşdirməyi planlaşdırdığını bildirib.

Yeni layihə əl-Murrat-əlKubra (Böyük acı gölü) gölünün cənubundakı ikitərəfli hissəni genişləndirəcək və qismən "Mohab Mamiş” tərəfindən həyata keçiriləcək.

Martın 23-dən 29-dək kanalın cənub hissəsində 440 metrlik konteyner gəmisinin torpağa çıxması yüzlərlə gəminin su yolundan keçməsinin qarşısını alaraq qlobal ticarəti iflic etmişdi.

Mart ayında altı günlük bloklanma qlobal tədarükü dayandırmış, bəzi gəmilər Afrikanın cənub ucundakı Ümid Burnu ətrafında uzun alternativ yolla üzmək məcburiyyətində qalmış, bu da əlavə yanacaq və digər xərclərə ehtiyac yaratmışdı. Yüzlərlə digər gəmi tıxanmanın bitməsini gözləyirdi.

Dünya ticarətinin təxminən 10% -i Misirin əsas valyuta mənbəyi olan bu kanaldan keçir. Rəsmi məlumatlara görə, keçən il kanaldan təxminən 19 min gəmi keçib.

Kanalda işlər Misir prezidenti Əbdülfəttah əs-Sisinin təklif olunan inkişaf planının icrasına dərhal başlamaq və ən qısa müddətdə tamamlamağı planlaşdırmaqla bağlı direktivindən sonra başlayıb.
